How to maintain your signage investment.

Your signage can be a significant investment, so it’s in your best interest to ensure that it lasts!

Over time chalkiness, dirt, dust, fumes and mold can deteriorate and stain your signs. Just as you wouldn’t leave your car unwashed for years and expect the paint to stay looking like new, your signs also need regular maintenance to look their best.

Caring for your signs is simple. A hand clean every 3 to 6 months with car wash and a soft sponge is the safest method. Be particularly careful if you have small individual letters where the sponge may catch edges. Then just rinse and chamois or allow to dry.

If the sign is too large or out of reach, a pressure washer may be used. Don’t be too aggressive, keep the nozzle at least half a metre away, and only wash at 90 degrees to the sign face. For more stubborn stains use methylated spirits (but try it on a small inconspicuous area of the sign first).
